Session I: Overview of the AID Roadmap & Outreach, Marketing, and Recruitment - Guideline 5
When recruiting, marketing, and conducting outreach to students in various forms, it is important to consider how these methods relate to students of diverse backgrounds. These students may sometimes have interests/concerns that are not clearly satisfied through existing efforts. This section therefore examines what the education abroad office does to outreach, recruit, and market study abroad to students from diverse backgrounds.
Session II: Financial Aid - Guideline 7
Funding is the top cited concern of all students who consider study abroad. Study abroad can be accessible financially to many students, and streamlining the process for students, particularly diverse students, who are considering study abroad is important. However, funding for students is not limited to scholarships, grants, and financial aid, though these are critical pieces of funding. Funding for study abroad should also consider the systems institutions can put into place to make study abroad more financially feasible for more students, including coordinated financial aid, informational workshops, support for funding applications, and collaboration with other campus units.
Who Should Attend?
Intended for professionals interested in developing the skills and expertise needed to increase capacity and serve more diverse student populations in education abroad.
