Diversity Abroad is committed to being at the forefront of advancing diversity, equity and inclusion within the international education and cultural exchange field by conducting & distributing national-level surveys, collaborative reports, and other research-based thought leadership to better understand the experiences of the students and professionals involved in these endeavors. In doing so, Diversity Abroad will be able to provide education professionals, policy makers and other stakeholders with the knowledge and resources to actively promote the inclusion and success of underserved students in global education.
2021 Survey of Diversity & Inclusion Among International Educators

As the leading organization dedicated to advancing diversity and inclusive policies and practices in international education, Diversity Abroad launched the annual Survey on Diversity & Inclusion Among International Educators to help the field make informed decisions on how we hire, develop professionals and create inclusive employment practices in our offices, organizations, institutions, and ultimately the field.
The 2021 survey expanded on questions addressing the climate of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace as well as measuring the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the field.

Collaboration to Advance Racial Equity in Education Abroad White Paper
This publication seeks to capture opportunities for international education leaders to collaborate with their counterparts in diversity, equity, and inclusion units to advance racial equity through education abroad and leverage this high-impact practice to advance student persistence, academic achievement, and post- degree success. While this publication focuses on collaboration between the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and the Senior International Officer (SIO) roles, the principles highlighted herein are applicable to other professionals who work in the international education and diversity and inclusion spaces or who support programming from these units.

2020 Snapshot Survey: Student Study Abroad Experiences During COVID-19
As part of Diversity Abroad’s efforts to support student success through global education, we developed the Snapshot Survey: Student Study Abroad Experiences During COVID-19. The goal of this survey is to better understand the experiences of students from various backgrounds who were enrolled at a U.S. higher education institution and who were abroad—or planning to go abroad—during spring 2020 and how COVID-19 will affect students’ and their family’s interest in education abroad in the future. We hope that the findings will further inform the field of global education on how to support students before, during, and after a crisis.
