Leading Through Change: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Times of Crisis
From Live Session on June 4, 2020

Session Description:

Over the past decade the field of international education has increasingly acknowledged the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in global education and has made efforts towards creating equitable access to the benefits of education abroad, fostering a culture of inclusion and belonging for international students and diversifying the profession. As we look forward to the immediate and long-term changes to our sector,  how do we ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are a critical component of our sector’s ‘new normal’? How do senior international officers, chief diversity officers and other higher education leaders continue to advance inclusive excellence in global education among competing priorities and an uncertain economic landscape?

Facilitators:

  • Dr. Lisa Coleman, Senior Vice President for Global Inclusion and Strategic Innovation, and Chief Diversity Officer, New York University
  • Dr. Cheryl Matherly, Vice President and Vice Provost for International Affairs, Lehigh University
  • Andrew Gordon, CEO & Founder, Diversity Abroad
